Mommy and Faith made cupcakes to match th
e Real Simple Halloween Cupcake pictured on the Real Simple bookmark... Faith insisted.
Daddy & Faith rode the carousel, much to both their enjoyment.
We attended a birthday party on the 10th for one of David's colleague's son, who turned 1. It was a cowboy theme complete with petting zoo and pony rides in their back yard.
My mom treated me and Faith to Mary Poppins at Fair Park Music Hall, which included a brief TEXAS STATE FAIR experience. By brief I mean the following....
*we arrived-located the famous Fletcher's corn dogs .... and had lunch

*Sized up next to Big Tex

*and Mini Tex

*made a quick trip down the Midway:
Faith played her first game, and lost. But got a pity prize.

Played her 2nd game, and won... yay!

Entered her first Fun House
Rode the Carousel
*returned to Music Hall, stopping for a funnel cake & cotton candy
* Saw the AMAZING Mary Poppins show - complete with Mary flying almost right over our heads at the end
*returned to car-shop---okay, so maybe I will be a mini-van mom in 2010...
*snuck in a Tator Twister (which I wish we found earlier - AMAZING, not greasy but perfectly made sweet potato chips on a stick with cinnamon and brown sugar....mmmmm good!)
*then headed back home... phew.
I do believe future trips to the State Fair will be LOTS of fun seeing that Faith could ride a ton of rides already at her height (like 1/8inch shy of 39inches) and we didn't even get into the KidWay. Though lots of energy reinforcements are a must for all adults involved. :)

Fun! What are you and Faith dressing up as for Halloween? Maybe you should be a nun too!!
2 things...
1. Faith is definitely a hat girl! I love that brown hat she's wearing. Too cute!
2. I can't believe we missed the sweet potato fries at the fair! I didn't even know they had them, but I will know better next year :)
